In 2004 the Italian Government donated four (4) desalination plants to Falluja in support of the city’s water infrastructure rehabilitation program.
These donated desalination plants, including chemicals and spare parts, were procured by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Euro Mec.
The plants are designed to treat brackish water and include chemical metering and micro filtration pre-treatments followed by reverse osmosis (RO) membrane filtration, the heart of each plant, and further chemical metering for post-treatment disinfection. The systems are complete with membrane cleaning stations, generators and electrical control panels.
Euro Mec designed and constructed the RO desalination plants in Italy and supplied them factory tested and pre-assembled inside 20’ containers meaning that they were ready both for smooth transport to Falluja and then for rapid installation onsite.
In order to ensure the equipment’s correct operation and therefore long life Euro Mec also provided a training course for local operators. Euro Mec training courses have both theoretical and practical components and are tailored to the product, the client’s needs and the training participants themselves.
